Lower Paperbark Creek Habitat Link is a staged restoration project connecting creek-bank repair, farm shelterbelts, and remnant rainforest patches through the lower catchment.

The project works with landholders, volunteers, the Paperbark Creek Catchment Group, and local partners to improve water quality, reduce erosion, build shade over the creek, and create safer movement corridors for native wildlife.

Project focus

  • Riparian planting using local native trees, shrubs, grasses, and sedges.
  • Support for creek fencing, off-stream watering, and better stock access design.
  • Follow-up weed control around young plantings.
  • Photo-point monitoring so the community can see change over time.
  • Field days that help landholders plan practical creek restoration.

Why it matters

Healthy creek lines connect farms, reserves, wetlands, and estuary habitats. By linking several smaller sites together, the project helps Banksia Coast Landcare tell a bigger story about catchment-scale repair.
