Saltmarsh Watch Training Day introduces volunteers to the simple monitoring methods used around the lower estuary.

Participants will learn how to photograph monitoring points, record field observations, recognise common saltmarsh plants, and note changes in rubbish movement, tidal creek edges, and wildlife activity.

Training activities

  • Setting up repeat photo points.
  • Using simple field sheets.
  • Recognising saltmarsh, mangrove edge, and tidal creek features.
  • Recording observations in a way that is useful later.
